My Thursday
I have taken to writing lists again. I write these lists and never follow them, but I have been keeping a rolling list, and trying hard to follow it. for Thursday this list was a page and a half long. And it'd about half done. When these lists include a list of telephone calls that are messages and answering machines and not people, that makes it hard to make them off my list because they are not "done". And I would say out of about 7 messages left, only about 3 called me back. Is it just me, or is it getting easier to ignore phone messages as well as emails?? Are we really getting ruder?
So my To Do list for Thursday kept me busy most of the day. I had to finish cards for a swap, make about 15 phone calls and return calls, work on a Stampin order, finish writing an article, deliver some stamps, it was laundry day, I had to fax off a registration form for the Exhibition, Clean out the van (not done), get catalogs to 2 customers, and I still have a lot of scrapping assignments to complete.
In the morning Scott was working at home and I changed the beds and changed the curtains in my bedroom. I worked on the Stampin' Up order and made my phone calls.
the laundry hung out and dried all day
After lunch there was more cleaning and the kids played a bit. Ive been playing some Webkinz for Holly trying to keep her 2 happy. They are hard to keep happy LOL you have to play with them a lOT!!!! It's kinda fun mindless entertainment to keep the kids happy.
I made some swap cards while I watched Dr. Phil who I do think is just a riot LOL he has some of the most rediculous people on there I want to slap them!
We met Scott's mother and SIL and nephews at Burger King for Supper, Scott and mother had to leave early so we let the kids play for a bit, then off to the soccer game, very confusing because the shifts were not even! Taylor look photos while I helped coach.
Yup that's my big butt!!!
After we got in some trouble with temper tantrums, delivered some stamps and a catalog, and came home LOL I put Annika in the bath, did some more laundry, finished my article, did layout for it, and went to bed. Holly and Taylor went to sleep on Holly's bedroom floor, and Annika on the couch. After Scott came home and chattered away I went to bed LOL

Wednesday at the Beach
I got to spend another day at the beach! I am getting spoiled tho by going to cottages, how am I ever going to go back to a public beach and have no bathroom/kitchen/cool spot?? LOL My dear Auntie Alison from Montreal is here with her family visiting and they have the cottage on the shore! This is the same shore where feel I have spent half the summer, just more east! In the morning we worked and cleaned and got ready to go. By about noon we were ready! We headed for New Glasgow and stopped for a little while at the Hospital to visit my grandfather who was alone and doing quite well. Apparently we popped in during rest time, no one told us we couldn't! LOL It was nice to see him, he's thinner and a little frail looking, can't wait to see him up and about again! It brought back some sad reminders of seeing my father in almost the same position, with the thinness and the tubes and IV's but at least he was feeling better. We then headed for Melmurby Beach, a place I spent a lot of summer days when I was a kid! Alison and family are renting a cottage a little ways away from the public beach. We found it despite an absolutely hilarious map drawn by my mother LOL and unloaded some stuff from the van and then went straight for the water! We walked a little way down the road and off across the shore to the Sand Bars (they do not serve cocktails there). On the way the water was shallow (tide was out) and there was loads of wildlife waiting in the little pools. The kids saw crabs and quahogs, snails and jelly fish. There were these teeny little fish they were trying to catch LOL and they collected tonnes of shells.
Out on the sand bar the kids played in the sand digging holes and making castles. They made friends with a little toddler named Katelyn, and waded into the water.
There was a big drop off that let everyone go deep very fast, we had to watch carefully to make sure the kids didn't walk off it! Scott spent a lot of time in the deep part with the kids.
Holly wouldn't go in the deep water and Taylor went a lot with Alison. I stayed dry with the camera I'm just not really desparate to swim, I like my feet wet and the rest dry.
After swimming there awhile we walked back to the sand beach and gathered things to go back.
Back at the cottage some others arrived and the kids ran off to play ball and soccer and pick raspberries. We got the food out and ready and had surf and turf! Ya Steak and Lobster. doesnt get any better! We ate to stuffed, and decided to skip baseball and stay into the evening, but for Scott who went back early to Truro so he could go umpiring. The kids played and watched a movie and played some soccer to Holly's delight!
Yes Taylor was there but didn't really want to pose for photos we got home very late and my mother headed for the Valley VERY late. I wonder if she made it home??? And off to bed!

Cards from the Monday class

These are cards and bookmarks I made for Monday's Class!
The bookmarks use watercolour paper and the watercolour crayons from Stampin' Up!
This flowered card is a lift from a card I got in a swap, with slightly different colours!
A neat buckle card using the white ink to make it look 3-D!

Wonderful warm Tuesday!
Warm doesn't describe it with Humidex we were at about 104 F (have to convert?) and over 40 C. I love the heat but did find the heat yesterday a little difficult No complaints but an observation.
The heat chased us out of bed pretty early. Scott went to work (missing vacation already) and We cleaned house and did laundry. I put the garbage and compost out, cleaned up some woodchips in the yard, cleaned up the yard toys, cleaned the pool of grass and bugs and put the cover back on (I keep asking scott why have a cover if he wont put it back on when he's done??) I keep the laundry under control by doing it every second day, and 2 loads. 2 loads fits nicely on the clothesline (funny habit we have of putting our underwear out for the world to see) and 2 loads is about what we collect over 2 days. It keeps it nicely out of sight The floor got swept and the living room tidied. We collected the due Library books, and cleaned children's rooms. And ya know the house looks no better! At about noon my mother came from New Glasgow (about 1/2 hour away, that's where her parents are) to look after the kids for me. I made them some Grilled Cheese and celery for dinner and chicken sandwiches for us. Then I went off again to the Horse Show ( it was a Pony club Rally) to vet Check the Cross Coutnry course! It was so hot I was really worried about the horses and the riders in the heat but it went well, there were no troubles at all

Holly was my little helper! She came and I discovered she's quite scared of horses. I know she's been around them but I didn't realise how little and long ago. She was also my photographer and took some very good photos!

I did get to see a lot of very nice horses, must be nice for mummy and daddy to buy all these wonderful things and look after them for me
This part of the Rally went very fast and then we were off again! We stopped at the pool to sign up for swimming lessons but they dont teach preschool lessons in the summer (HUH?) so I am putting the little girls in private lessons and maybe Taylor into the regular lessons. This is where the heat was starting to get to me. Walking across the pavement and the heat swirling around...I just wanted home!! heheheh
Got home at the same time as the Grammy came home with the 2 she took to the library and on some other errands. She got the kids each a little charm thing for their Crocs. Now I better go get myself one The kids and the Grammy got in the pool for awhile, it was nice for them...I preferred to sit in the shade and try to read but I would say the heat got to everyone, there was fighting and bickering and it was just stressful.
After a very rushed supper Scott took Holly to soccer practice, I finished the laundry and Taylor read and worked on her Chore List (her idea not mine) Annika helped me with laundry and after a nice Frozen sugar (ie Freezie) the kids were less than enthused about going to bed. It was too hot anyway. Annika didnt go to bed til I think after 10. She was Cranky!
Supposed to be an early night for us too but too hot to sleep. Not a complaint tho!

Mini Album for a Class

Mini Album for a Class
OK trying AGAIN to post this.
I did this folded mini album with a scrapbooking class and they loved it! Some followed my designs exactly, others varied some with the same supplies, and they had some lovely results!
the album is a 12X12 cardstock that is split in one side and folded up like a game board. This makes a cover and a back, and 6 pages inside. It unfolds flat 12X12. The closure is created with a paper buckle.
My theme was beach, but the ladies in the class made many different themees.
This is the album cover closed. Sorry the photos are a little shiny All Supplies are Stampin' UP. The Closure was made with a paper strip sliding into a buckle made with the Word Window Punch and brads. The alphabets used are Headline (large) and Spunky (small).
Unfolded, pages 1-4 are 12X12 inches.
Pages 5 and 6 are on the opposite side and flip down to be viewed.
the back and Front appear together and fold up to close.

My First Stampin' Up! Party of the New Catalog Year!!
It's Over! The First Stampin' Up! Party of the New Catalog Year has been done and is over with. For me anyway I like to take the summer months really easy but thought I should attempt a new party as soon as I could So Monday was it! I really was intimidated by this party. The ladies I knew are Very nice and it was in a lovely location, I had awesome projects planned, and it was all good. BUT sometimes there can be difficulties with some of the ladies, and there was a Rep from the COMPETITION there! Yes a Close to my Heart rep was there! I had heard a lot about her! I only found out she was coming by chance, and I am kinda glad I did because it gave me a chance to really prepare mentally and she was as nice as everyone had always said she was. lol she was complimentary of the class and the products, I mean there are good and bad about both companies and I dont find it hard to work with the same ladies she is working with so luckily it's a good situation
Ok so to start with, I was up til 1 am Sunday night preparing. This is due to a bad memory and a lack of preplanning on my part, but it was not accompanied with the same panic I have experienced in the past. I got up really early Monday morning, double checked, showered and did hair/makeup, it was hot by 6 am so taking it as easy as possible. There was a pot luck lunch so Scott ran out at 730 to get some fresh spinach and mushrooms to make me a spinach salad, and I was ready when a friend came to pick me up at 810 am. We drove her little boy to his gramma's cottage about an hour away in Malagash, then continued on further to Fox Harbour, an amazing Golf course/Resort/gated community on the north shore. And of course it was STUNNING! The course, the Runway and Hanger with the Private Plane, the community were all like something out of a movie the Hostess's "cottage" HAHAHA was amazing and Air Conditioned, a good thing since the heat was really up. We did 2 cards and a book mark using the watercolour crayons, and it went really well albeit a little longer than I planned. We didn't get to walk on the beach, as when it was done we were literally running out the door to pick up the little ffellow and get back to Truro for my friend's husband to get off work and for us to get to Baseball.
I really did not want to go to baseball. I was running on no sleep and a totally wiping day with the class and driving what amounted to about 3.5 hours. BUt I got home and Scott says "we're going to Nanny's for supper" and off we went. I actually think I fell asleep there for about 10 minutes, and then off to baseball! that was actually nice once we got there, it was hot and the kids were really sluggish but they seem to be really understanding the rules of the game and it's going really well. I think by August they will be playing real games.
So home and off to bed without doing a whole lot. I did start putting in the SU order, did a few computer related things, watched a show on TV. And am starting to go to bed early. So I can get up earlier. I need to start having productive days
Ok off to hang out more laundry and get ready for the hot hot hot horse show I have to Vet check this afternoon. Health Canada is recommending people stay out of the heat. WHY am I heading into it???lOl

July 16 06

Another Sunday :)
Sunday, and it's Hot Hot Hot! I love it when it's hot! No complaints here! I woke up nice and early and got a good start on my scrap room It's coming along, I can now walk across it
Getting ready for a Monday Stampin' Up party and I should not have left it so late because I forgot about a prior engagement I have with a few horses I Vet Checked a Local Horse and Pony event. The horses jump a cross Country course I have never yet seen (this is my fourth year doing this) and when they finish they come to me to be checked to be sure they are ok to go on It's something fun I like to do but I swear those poor people get the hottest day of the year every single year! I wish just once it would rain, the poor horses are SO hot Tomorrow I go to do the Pony Club Rally, same deal. I take Taylor with me, this year she wrote some results down for me and also took photos.
Poor kid, I know she would love to take riding lessons and pony club, I sure wish she could do it. maybe someday I will be able to arrange it She wanted to watch some of the stadium jumping afterwards, and we took lots of lovely photos.
After the show was over Taylor and I came home and slipped into the pool for 5 minutes to cool off. we went to get the little girls from Nanny's as Scott was umpiring again in Lemon Hill. no Violence on Sunday. On saturday there was some heckling and bottle cap tossing, threats of "more" but nothing serious. Considering Scott's senstive area being a little more sensitive than normal, I would think he would back off of stuff like that Came home and while deciding what to have for supper, Scott came home and made a nice BBQ Something or other. I spent the rest of the evening getting ready for SU party and cleaning up scrap room, putting kids to bed and getting there myself somewhere around 1 am. couldn't sleep anyway it was hot and I was anxious. The group I was making cards with can be a little bit intimidating despite all being very nice ladies, and I discovered Saturday that there was a Close To My Heart rep invited YIKES talk about pressure to be GOOD!!!! LOL
And on to Monday

July 15 06

Saturday July 15
Saturday. One of my Favorite days fo the week! Scott and the kids are home, we do things together...OH WAIT.
Scott is feeling so much better he called and got some Umpiring games. Without even talking to me first! LOL I am so glad it was 30 C (that's hot) and he had to stand on some dry baseball field in some backwoods community with a bunch of drinking ball players! HA OK I had my laugh.
We had a nice breakfast then I was working on cleaning my scrap and Scott left. After a Funny lunch made by Holly with Very little Peanut butter and bread and Jam (it was really bread that she passed by the Peanut butter and Jam jars hahaha) we went to the Town Pool with 3 little girls they hang out with, the little Larkins. The pool was crowded but the kids were good so it was not hard to keep an eye on 6 little girls! Taylor and Meaghan went on the diving board and the water slide a lot. Taylor always went down backwards and once she hit her foot on the bottom of the pool and claimed it was broken. 5 minutes later she was back on the slide again. Holly is amazing with her swimming, swimming under and over and jumping off things and Annika was dipping her head under for a good long time It was really nice to see them so comfortable in the water They had a great time. AND I HAVE NO PHOTOS! I decided with 6 kids there I would not be able to take photos and keep an eye on the camera too (theft is not unheard of ).
We came home and had a really bad supper LOL Chicken Noodle soup and bread and crackers. That's what they wanted When Scott came home he made us a burger and salad and the kids picked at that too. We hung around a bit then went to bed.
Not a terribly exciting day.
And I have NO photos of any of it!
On Sunday I forgot about a Horse Show I have to Vet Check at. I knew it was coming just forgot when it was. I have to go again on Tuesday. And Monday is a Stampin' Up party I have rather been dreading. It's not too close to home and I'm worried that they wont like the cards and stuff I am planning! Wednesday My aunt from Montreal is having a "gathering" and BBQ at a cottage they are renting on the shore. Thursday I guess I can rest. Mon-Thurs nights there are Baseball and Soccer.
My Grandfather is in the Hospital a little ways from here. He had a gall stone for awhile and didn't get a check up, rather waited til the pain was really bad and he was really sick WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE MEN IN THAT FAMILY?? My father (his son) was sick for 2 months before he finally went to a doctor and shortly after he was gone. My grandfather had surgery yesterday for a burst gall bladder yesterday and I hear is doing ok afterwards (relatively) but he had to have major surgery and had some issues coming back around. I would really like to visit him when I think he can take the visitors, maybe while we are nearby on Wednesday and I can leave the kids with Scott.
So what am I thankful for??
10 "Thankfulnesses" From Today
1. That Scott is feeling well enough to go Umpiring in 30C weather 2. That the kids are healthy and active3. That the weather is finally nice and hot and sunny just the way I like it4. I have friends who trust me with their kids at a pool5. That we have a pool and a town pool 6. The kids were tired and happy to go to sleep.7. that I have plans for Sunday-Wednesday because it means I have a full life.8. That we have a lawn that needs mowing and a house that desparately needs cleaning.9. that I still have my grandfather, and can be near for his long recovery 10. That I still have time to get ready for my Stampin Up party!

July 14 06

Friday July 14
Scott's recovery is coming along nicely I would say he's mostly back to normal, he referreed the soccer game Thursday night and on Friday he's been trotting around, he's going Umpiring All of Saturday and Most of Sunday, so I call it a "fix"! Hehehe
Friday morning was the last day of VBS! It was SO good! There was a huge crowd and I have never seen parent participation like this place! There were tonnes of parent volunteers and teachers! Teens were the "Pit crew" or team leaders, and it was lead by Many parents. The Last Lap was a lot of fun, we saw many of the songs the kids have been singing, and they wrapped up the whole "Lesson" thing I played with my camera and took a lot of photos working on settings and focus and lighting, had lots of time
I dont think I have ever seen Holly so comfortable or taking part in something so completely! I think her shyness is fading and she's starting to really enjoy being out doing things with crowds of people. Not a moment too soon as she starts school in September! LOLTaylor was in her element singing and dancing, she's always been happy to be the center of attention and needs a wonderful Drama Club HAHAAHH!
At home we ate and I sat out on our new lawn chairs reading for FAR too long I finished Circle of Friends which I believe I actually saw the movie for a million years ago It was a good book, different times of course. Maybe I should try reading Little Women, seems they would have loads in common. So now I do have a bit of a sun burn lol from sitting out for an hour or 2 without sunscreen "sigh" When we were kids you could occassionally venture out without a full body suit or sunscreen and not crisp.
Taylor called and invited over Morgan and MacKenzie for a swim, and the pool was a little warmer although they occassionally had to get out and warm up when their lips got too purple.
After the swimming afternoon and a wonderful BBQ supper of Bacon wrapped Filet Mignon (for the parents) and some kinda steak for the kids, with bbq potato slices and corn, we went for Ice Cream with Scott's parents, came home and snuggled in bed watching TV until we all fell asleep. It was hot and muggy while we waited for Thunderstorms that never came "sigh" so we are expecting a very hot Saturday. Too bad Scott has to umpire while I take the kids swimming

July 13 06

Thursday July 13
I hope I can remember Thursday! What a blur this week has been It rained like mad all day! The kids had VBS Alone, we didn't have to pick and and deliver anyone! LOL that was kinda nice. While they were gone we went to Canadian Tire and bought a pool cover and a lawn chair, with a foot stool Then I got 3 little bug nets to let the kids clean the pool with Scott declared it Put Things Together Day! He put together the lawn with his trusty little helpers
We picked up the kids and enjoyed our very first Freecycle Experience! Rollerblades! Scott has needed a pair for awhile now, and thanks to someone who was moving away, he has some!
After lunch the kids had Meaghan and Michaela over to swim. It was raining and not terribly warm, not to mention the pool was freshly filled with Freezing cold water...they were a little cold...
...They came back in soon with a loud happy chorus of Chattering teeth and Brrrrrs with a Rising and falling rhythm! Soon dressed and warm again.
Putting Things Together day continued without the help of the helpers as Scott decided a lawn mower was too tricky LOL
After a spaghetti supper the HIGHLIGHT of the whole day was the soccer game We picked up MacKenzie and left Taylor with her mother and sister Morgan to watch Morgan play soccer, and took Mac off to our game where she plays with Holly. Annika was a really bored little person, attacking and tackling poor Holly everytime she sat down! Holly had a wonderful game, playing agressively and Scoring her second GOAL! MacKenzie also scored a goal, not bad for 2 of the smallest people on the team! They did really well in the game and I believe it really did end in a tie, 3-3.
what did I do all day? Just ran after these people and looked after them!

July 12 06

Wednesday July 12
Wednesday was Such a quiet day. We're not even trying to do anything or get anything done this week LOL minimal housework, no big projects (last year we redid the rec room), and no plans!
The kids had VBS, Taylor's friend Emma went with them. Annika stayed home again with us. Scott's mother appeared mid morning with a little surprise, a new lawn mower. Scott's been a little hard on Lawn mowers, the one we had from out west was harmed on a buried steel post, and when it was repaired he came home and hit the same metal post within literally 5 minutes. the Damage was too severe this time and there was no saving the mower. So we have been using his parent's mower and one from our neighbor last year and beginning of this...well his father decided we should have one...and his mother got it and brought it in.
The kids came home with Emma in tow, and after they all ate, they decided they should earn some money for the missionaries at the church, the Nachos. LOL I know, kinda funny. the picked some flowers (little tiny things) and tied them up in 5 little bouquets. They made a little stand and went out by the road to sell these flowers! There was one lady who bought one and gave them 6$!!! So they sold them all (some to us, some to others) and earned around 11$ to take to VBS for the Nachos.
The little ones and I made some cookies in the early afternoon (it was not too hot then) so they did not feel too left out while Taylor and Emma played. We used the Chocolate Cookie Recipe posted on Untamed by Meghan! Recipe
To Be Continued...

July 11 06

Tuesday July 11
The Day arrived the day I have kinda been dreading because it puts a huge life decision into reality. We've said we are through with having babies since Before Annika. We are content with our 3 girls, and we dont want or need any more. BUT. Now the fact that our baby days are over has become a reality I'm very sad about. I don't know why, I guess because I wanted kids, and it's what I am doing right now, I dont think I ever really thought we were done having them, no matter what we said, I always thought somewhere in the back of my mind that we would have another one. And that it would be that little boy that I never got.
But Scott went yesterday and ended our baby making days. I wont freak you out with photos hahahahhaha but I was tempted! What scrapper wouldnt??

We sent Annika off to stay with her Nanny the night before, and it was funny when I get up in the morning I always go find the kids first, and since we got up earlier than usual yesterday I was a little groggier than usual and I couldn't find Annika. I check the couch where Scott was and he said She's in Her Bed. I check, No Annika. So I'm standing there thinking What The....oh wait. She's at her grandmothers! LOL DUH!
So we got ready and took Scott off to the hospital. had to be there 745 UGH what normal people are awake and out at 745?? ok maybe I am the late one. lol. So anyway we waited for about 1/2 hour, then I had to go take Taylor and Holly and their friends to vacation bible school,

and by the time I got back, Scott was sitting out front waiting for me. He had a good day, little discomfort, and I think he rested a lot loads of ice. On one of those Helpful Hints emails I saw the neatest Ice Pack idea, a freezer baggy with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup Vodka makes a cold, squishy ice pack! I made 3, and he's enjoyed them a lot especially since it has been so hot And it has been HOT!
Annika went to the library yesterday for her Youth Activity with Nanny, and then they went out for lunch and shopping She has new rubber boots that are HUGE! LOL I laughed when I saw them!

Both Taylor's friend Regan and Holly's friend Cassidy stayed with us yesterday after VBS was over, and we set up the little blow up pool for them Holly and Cassidy played outside most of the time, and Taylor and Regan stayed in a lot

It's different having Scott sit around all the time while I do everything We Sat out a long time on the swing and watched the kids in the pool and on the swings it was HOT HOT HOT did I mention I love it hot?? We Barbequed for supper of course, seasoned chicken cooked on the rack over a pan of water for an hour and sliced potatoes with butter, onions, and garlic done in tin foil. YUM my mouth is watering
Soccer was early last night, and because one of the coaches is away, the other coach asked us to help out...Scott said YES, and then says to me OH you can do that, I am going to be a little laid up So I did end up coaching a little last night. They did some fun things like Traffic Jam where they had to dribble their balls across a small space without touching someone else's. Holly is getting SO good, she's going to be a wonderful soccer player!

So home and tv and bed. What an exciting life we lead

July 10 06

Monday July 10
Monday, and the first day of Vacation for Scott, first day of VBS for the kids, and nothing for me
We're not planning anything for vacation, as Tuesday Scott will be making the end of our procreation period a reality. yup, it's his turn, and he's having the vasectomy. Mixed feelings on this one, I am sure I will get into that another time.
The kids started VBS, and it's a wonderful and exciting thing for them! They love to be out doing things, they have no aversions to singing songs about Jesus all day (ya at home too), and they find the theme, The Amazing Race, quite a lot of fun. There's a mascot, Otto, and their VBS leaders are called Pit Crew. They painted plant pots, and planted grass seeds in them. They sang and danced and had stories and played games like water games and bust the balloon with your butt games LOL. They had a great time
Annika spent the morning doing things she likes with mom and dad alone, like colouring and playing with the dog
We hoped to go to the pool in the afternoon but got busy doing house things and ended up not. Had to get groceries for the next 2 weeks (so I say; we spent 2 weeks worth of budget!)
and then supper and off to baseball for us, Umpiring for Scott.
Off and Running for Tuesday

July 9 06

Another Beachy Day, a Concert, and a Rest.
Saturday. The whole weekend is spread out in front of you. I love Saturday. Friday we are all tired, Sunday we are just thinking new week, but on Saturday we have 2 days off, and the weekend is just starting. Although Scott started his vacation so we actually have a whole week, doesn t matter I still love Saturday LOL
We got up early and did go to the beach. Our friend had taken Taylor over the night before anyway, so we went to their cottage and spent the day. The kids had so much fun, we barely saw them close up, and had some real relax time. They built a "habitat" for some Hermit crabs they found (SOME??) maybe 30? We swam some but there were these little things in the water that pop out of the sand and tickle our feet...they freak me out and I just...couldn't do them hahahahaha I stayed on the sand most of the time. The little ones tried out their new Body Boards, loved those! We had a nice lunch, got sunburned, and dragged ourselves home in time for showers and supper.
The kids went to their cousin's for the evening while we went out! OMG out like adults! we went to the Lotto Truck Drive, which has a wonderful concert and Dance associated with it. We did not win the Truck but we did see George Canyon live, and we dranks lots of beer and visited with lots of friends and some familyIt was SO hot and SOOOO crowded. We were in fact avoiding a family wedding dance that we had been invited to, because the Bride and Groom divided the family into A: We like you so come to the wedding, and B: We dont like you, come to the dance and bring a present. We chose C: neither LOL. After the concert we decided we did not want to stay for the Truck Draw dance, and did not want to go to the wedding dance, so we went to Scott's Parent's place to see Aunts and Uncles. Got the kids home somewhere around 1 am (yes they were sleeping) and then we tried hard to sleep in, tried hard! LOL
So today I have been resting. we did a little bit of laundry, spent some time working with the dog, weeded some sunflowers, and I read the rest of one of the books I am reading, The Second Summer of the Sisterhood. Despite my attempts to be disciplined and read one at a time, I have been reading 2 The kids went to the Golf Course with their grandparents for a drive in the golf cart, then visited with their Nanny for a couple of hours. Scott Umpired for 2 games, and I was alone to watch the Soccer Game
Now the kids are getting ready for sleep. They have VBS tomorrow and I dont know what we are doing

July 8 06

Pink Eye and Ear Aches

Two out of Three of the kids have the icky eyes. and the Third says hers hurt. What does a mommy do? How can I keep them home? lol I didn't. I toss eye drops near them and take them out. I even sent Taylor off on a sleepover to the beach. I warned the other mommy. She said ok I have eye drops. That easy. LOL
I started off the day yesterday with a Dental appointment. Misery. I had to have a filling replaced as something was growing underneath it. And I have freezing issues. I dont freeze well. Thank GOD for this dentist, who froze, not once, but twice, and when i could still feel it, did a different and very effective block one more time! I was there almost 2 hours! OMG. ! And I was frozen until way into the afternoon. But by the time she got going, I really did not feel a thing! Hopefully this is the end of sitting there trying not to jump when they hit nerves and stuff! OR I can hope the rest of the teeth remain healthy and the fillings all stay nice and tight
I actually went home and had the juice the dentist suggested, and slept off the adrenaline. LOL It's a nervy process and i didnt actually sleep the night before.
Taylor's last day of Science Camp was awesome for her! they made little cardboard ovens and checked to see how hot they would get in the sun! I think Taylor could have cooked in hers LOL Well not quite but it is impressive to see how hot it can get in a little cardboard box with Saran wrap and Tin Foil. Imagine what happens in a car! UGH poor babies who's parent's forget them
we claimed her Library Trivia Prize, it was a Unicorn book, could not have been a better choice for her
lol
we went to Scott's Parent's place for supper, they had a nice Turkey dinner for the Great Grandparents who were there the kids played fora while then we came home and Scott went umpiring. Because Taylor got to go on a sleepover at the beach, Holly and Annika wanted special too! SO we stopped on the way home for popcorn, and after baths and a few minutes training with the dog, we set up the Princess Tent in the living room and they watched a movie. Until Annika started screaming that her cheek hurt. That went on for at LEAST 2 hours. Eventually I figured out that it was her ear, but no idea why it was hurting, and I heated some Olive Oil and soaked a cotton ball for her ear, layed her on a hot Magic Bag, gave Ibuprofen, and eventually she went to sleep (Thanks Alison
she's fine this morning. And I believe we are headed for the beach...again!I love the beach!

the Soccer game, Science Camp, and other fun stuff
Holly had a soccer game tonight...she has gone from the little crying girl on the field 2 weeks ago who didn't know Soccer would be so Twicky, to the little one who scored her first GOAL! YAY! Last night they were terribly out done by the other team. Not sure what the issue is, but Holly's team lacks a little ambition maybe? LOL they just don't really seem to want to play hard, wandering around, staring at the clouds..while the other teams score goal after goal...anyway, Holly has been practicing and really loves to play...and last night I saw the most enthusiasm I ever have in her! It was wonderful to see, she was jumping up and down on the side lines, and when she was playing she was always in the action. and It paid off with her first GOAL which this camera toting mommy MISSED a photo of, I was too busy cheering for her If you had seen her crying her eyes out begging to go home just 2 weeks ago...it was a great night for her!

Taylor found Science Camp a little slow. They were learning to be Stewards of the Environment...whatever that means. She has taken it upon herself to learn a new french word every day of this summer. That would be neat, if she'd just write it down...but she's all about pictures so she Draws something for each one, and she's taking HOURS! She won a draw at the library and has won a book of some sort....I may take her to get it tomorrow.
And Annika I believe has an eye infection. we've started the drops but she doesnt like it! oh fun and now my eyes are itching, allergies or more, Ive no idea!
I have cleaned a lot of the rec room yesterday and started to find my scrappin stuff too! I will be so glad to have that room back! It was taken apart to add a cabinet last winter but no one helped put stuff away so it has stayed that way til I had time to deal with it. I am getting there!!
Busy day today, must run!BYEEEEEEEE

Bloggin It Again
I wrote a nice long detailed post a few nights ago. I added photos and had nice little funnies in it. And It's disappeared in an apparent Post/Comment/Blog eating episode. Naturally I cannot remember what I had said, and Ive been so Irritated about it since I noticed, Ive not come to write again. Pout Pout.

So here I am trying to play catch up. I am hoping this will help me remember what I need to add in my Month Long Album I am attempting to create. I plan one for summer and one for winter. And I started keeping track on Canada Day, July 1.
On Canada day my mother was here and we took the kids to the parade. The kids were in the parade on the Exhibition float with their Aunt, cousins, father, and the dog. It was fairly relaxing walking about Kid-Free for a little while We got lots of photos!

After home and lunch and a little rest we took the kids to the park for some of the festivities and then home to prepare for a BBQ we had for some of our friends and the Grammy/Nanny's. We planned to go to the fireworks afterwards but a neighbor set off a few fireworks and scared my mother's dog who ran away and we spent ages looking for her before we ran up the hill for the only view we could get I got a few photos and we went home. The dog was picked up by Animal control and we got her back the next morning.
July 2 we rested. It rained and was gloomy, I finished a book and entertained the Grammy. Monday Taylor started Science camp! She loved it! They did River Health the first day, we went to the park where they were for a walk and saw them in the river on our way We had a nice long walk and after a quick supper Taylor had a Baseball Game. Said goodbye to Grammy, ran a couplr of errands, and headed home. Tuesday (July 4) we took Taylor to Science camp where they did Billions of Bugs. then I took the little girls to the beach to play with some friends. It was hot and steamy, the tide was out, and it was a perfect beach day! they found a hermit crab they called Crabby and they played with it all afternoon. they played soccer on the beach sand bars and they floated on Body Boards. What a life. Taylor was picked up by Nanny and after Holly's soccer game we went out to get her and Had supper. Taylor got her grading shopping trip and gifts, she and Nanny got her a new watch, another Webkinz, and an ice cream. Holly spent the night with her Nanny.
Wednesday was really quiet, with just Annika and I here. Taylor was off again to Science Camp, where they did Some Tree Science. Annika and I did Laundry, changed my bedroom around, cleaned the little girls' room, and vaccuumed and cleaned all the floors, cleaned the kitchen, the bathroom, and tidied the basement a little bit. I did some house cleaning it was rainy and hot in the morning, and sunny and steamy in the afternoon. Taylor had Baseball again and Nanny and Grampy came to watch. It was a good game, I can't believe how quickly these kids are picking up the game! Home and baths, bed for everyone.
And that brings us to today. Science Camp, Library youth Programs, and lunch have been our hightlights. Yay I think I will save the details for tonight

the last full week of school
Taylor is still in school and it's killing me! LOL I was SO tired this morning that when she came and said she wasn't feeling well (shes had a cold, I know) I said Oh good stay home. That means 2 less trips to school for me today And good! That's pretty lazy of me. I'm not proud. But I am SO tired of running to the school! LOL
I'm not sure what I am looking forward to about school. I am annoyed at the kids that are still hanging around demanding things, Annika is currently on the floor whining and kicking about something and I cannot even figure out what! But I dont care! I love summer vacation and that's all I want to see right now.
We've just completed another activity for the summer, Piano lessons today was the last one and I think Taylor's done fairly well considering her attention span is about 4 minutes total lol.
Scott's away so I'll be taking all the kids to Holly's Soccer practice tonight. Wonder what I can do to kill THAT hour? LOL
This week is lasting FOREVER!

And It Begins
Yup. Summer has officially begun. No, the kids are still in school, the weather is not great and there are no vacations yet. But the summer SPORTS have begun. Mondays and WEdnesdays Taylor has Baseball. Tuesdays and Thursdays Holly has Soccer. Annika? Well there's no room for her. I will promise to take her swimming tho
I'm not sure I was ever meant to be on the sidelines. And I am sure I don't particularly like other people's kids. There were some really annoying kids at Taylor's ball practice tonight I mean really annoying. And The Coaches had that whole Chauvanistic attitude going on, they ignored the 2 girls on the team and concentrated on the boys. I suppose I might as well get used to it. Or get involved.
Holly's soccer last night was awesome. She was so cute, smiling and running all the time. It was fun and she actually could be pretty good, she got right in the crush of things and went for the ball rather than standing back and waiting
It could be an interesting summer.
