Two layouts

Yup 2 layouts in one night!
I did a Digital one for the LIITD challenge It's All About Polka Dots! I used a digital page kit by Doris Castle, and a photo my SIL Vicky took on New Years Day of Holly :)

Then for more challenges all wrapped up in one, I did the LIITD "Finally getting "around" to it Challenge. i did this round layout of Annika being a little Diva last Christmas. Then by Embellishing the flower accents, I completed the #5 Elsie Flannigan Challenge - Embellish a Flower accent :)

Saturday I love Saturday!

LOL I can't believe it's already Jan 20. This month really is flying by!

No sleeping in here, no one seems to need to sleep in this house! SO we might as well be awake :)
Woke up to some snow flurries. Nothing exciting. Unfortunately the rink did not fare well in the rain of the night before. Not sure we can make anything of it :(:(:( Darned weather, it's so hard to make something like this work, with the temps at -20's then +6 the next day. The ice that's left is brittle and thin.

Quiet morning, the kids and I cleaned bedroom and Taylor helped me vaccuum, and they got their weekly allowance :) Too bad the rooms are not clean this morning lol not even close! LOL

Annika struggled with some hiccups for awhile, I suggested she hold her breath, which she did and it didnt work...so she suggested she stand on her head for awhile HHAHAHA didnt work then she went to get a drink of water LOL and didnt mention them again LOL!

Holly had hockey at noon, and after they came home we all had lunch. I prefer waiting for them so that we can eat together :)

A Quiet afternoon, the kids played and watched a movie and I went shopping! I took Krista away and we hit Walmart and the Mall (arent we crazy and SPONTANEOUS??) LOL

I used a bunch of those walmart Cash Cards that I had been collecting (not sure why LOL) and got some stuff we wanted!

Trevor has sent us Cards for Christmas and I kinda saved the one from last year because I wasnt sure what we wanted but this year we had decided we wanted a Bed in a Bag and I picked one out yesterday :):) Now I am looking at paint chips! THANKS TREVOR!

I wanted pillows for the new couch, and Although I had something in mind, I saw these ones and now I have in a flash a completely different plan. I am thinking grey/green or seafoam or some barely green colour for the walls. maybe go right out there with a Turquoise LOL!

Holly needed smome long johns for under her hockey gear and I found some that were really cheap...then I found these ones that are actually really good...they are specifically sportswear, supposed to wick away sweat and be warm and antibicrobial and all that LOL She just wanted longer sleeves so her elbow pads didnt rub anymore LOL!

Poor Annika got a Webkinz for Christmas, a l'il Elephant she calls Peanut. but the Tag was lost before we put lil peanut online, so he is not adopted! LOL Annika cries about that at some point almost every day, so I bought her a new L'ilkinz. It's not like she meant to lose the tag. :( She's only 4! lol And yes I will do almost anything to stop her from crying so pitifully! Rather than another elephant tho, I got her the White Terrier. She loves it (I think I love it more, it's SO soft) and she called it Minky. I think she was actually saying Mingy but that was too hard to say LOL anyway Minky has joined her family! We put her right on and I confiscated the tag.

Taylor got some birthday presents she doesnt know about yet :):):) more than a month and I think I am dong buying for her! She got flash cards and a new neck strap for her tamagotchi.

Now I dont usually go out buying the kids stuff LOL BUt once you get something for one....and besides nothing was Really expensive LOL!

Just before bed Taylor tripped over her TOO long pajamas and fell DOWN the basement stairs! Scared the ever living CRAP outta me, as she slid right to the bottom! She cried and cried...the first thing she said was BROKE YOUR STEPS! There is a rail at the top of the stairs, and on her way down she grabbed one and broke it off...and carried it all the way to the bottom. Lucky she wasnt stabbed by it. She said "You worked so hard to build it and I broke it! I feel so BAD!!" OMG and that made ME feel so bad.
So I assured her Daddy could fix it in about 3 minutes (more like 20 but hey it was fixed in no time cause we had spares) and then we got to looking at her injuries...a little carpet burn on her ribs but I bet she is sore on Sunday! :(:(:(

The dogs are finally figuring out Tug of War. one or the other forgets to hold on tho!

Friday That's my Fun Day

Funny. NOT!

Well Friday School was cancelled. I had hoped for a storm day, actually. I wanted one. But when I got up and saw that nothing was different from the night before, I came to terms with the fact that there was school. And actually because Aleah was only to be in for 2-3 hours, it wasnt that big a deal. I would clean house and look after a few things while she was here. Then Climbing back into bed, with the radio kinda on, I hear "Chignecto Regional blah blah Cancelled". REALLY??? SERIOUSLY??

Now I know this is one of those situations they cannot POSSIBLY win. I mean...there was horrid weather forecast. Snow changing to freezing rain-rain-freezing Rain-back to snow. huge winds. BUT at that point there was no snow. So they are idiots to cancel school,or they send everyone to school, have to cancel early, someone gets hurt on bad roads, and they are idiots for NOT cancelling school. So as I am happy to see, they cancelled, preferring to go on the side of safety rather than shipping the kids off. And at the time they have to make that decision, the forecast was nasty.

So We had no Aleah, and Katelyn was here for the day. No diapers YAY! hehehehe

The kids started right out on the hill, because with rain forecast there was bound to be no snow later on, plus really wet. Because it was warmed up, they got soaked fairly fast, and the coasting was pretty slow compared to when it's cold. So they didnt stay out a long long time.

Snow?? nope. Not yet.

So they watched a movie. A Movie that OMG still has to go back to the store!holy MOLEY!


Zoe and Smythe are not having much fun coming to an agreement on Who's house this is. She likes to chase him and thinks it's ok to leap up and bite him while I am holding him HELLO! She gets a little "focused" and forgets that I said NO!

They appeared to reach a little truce today. Zoe had a nap near Smythe,
And he stayed up high, out of reach.
But I woke her up and the Truce was off, shew as leaping at him and snapping. Gonne be along battle THAT one.

Snow? not by lunch time. Rain? nope.

Holly and Katelyn did a lot of colours and letter writing down with me.


The dogs played endlessly. That is exhausting. They make these odd sounds when they are playing, kinda choking noises LOL

The dogs needed a bath (smell like dogs, cant have that) and so Scott bathed them. Dylan is very soft when he's clean :) Being white, they need bathing more often.

I dont think this was Zoe's first bath. She was really good.

Mid afternoon. Snow? Nope. Rain? starting. School?? There should have been school.


So the kids watched another movie and had some pop corn and way too much candy. LOL
The rain and wind picked up a little, and I was sad to see the rink was not doing so well. The rain was washing it away :(:(:( I hope once it gets cold we will be able to salvage it. The way it worked, Im not sure we can.

Holly had hockey at 5. Gems for Taylor was cancelled. After Holly and Scott came home we had supper and then Annika had a bath and the kids went to bed. Scott went out to play Poker, and I didnt do a thing but watch the kids and the dogs. I went to bed early and listened to the wind and rain and talked on the phone. I was made aware around 11 pm it was snowing but Scott wasnt home yet. apparently it was a nasty drive home and he came in aroun 117 am but I didnt see him. Lots of blankets on all the couches tho. "SIGH"

Thursday, Jan 18th 2007

Another cold day! This was -28, but with no wind chill, it was really sunny and pretty. Supposed to warm up alot over the day, with above 0 by Friday Sheeesh cant we keep the snow???? lol

Scott was booked to go to to NFLD so again he was up early and went to the airport. This time he was actually checked in, when he got to security his flight was cancelled. This time it was mechanical issues. So he was home and off to Moncton.

After Allison took the kids to school I went right down to Scrapbook, contest deadlines are Thursday night. Annika loves it when I do that because she can craft with me! My space is getting overwhelmed by Annika-creations!
Aleah came from before noon til just after 2, and she did some pictures with Annika. They ate some snacks and watched a show :)

After School the kids went right out to coast. They better made good use of that snow while it lasts!


During supper we had a surprise for the kids; We are adopting our friend's little JRT! They are moving and cannot take her with them, so we are taking in Zoe! She's a tiny, timid, yet shockingly aggressive little thing :):):)

Dylan is in his Glory, he loves a play mate!

And he is about 2 times her size! They are different sorts, he's short legged and smooth coated, she's longer legged and has a squarer face, and wire hair. Should make interesting friends :)

I got my LIITD layouts put in just before the deadline and Voting starts FRIDAY!!!!

Another Hump Day

Cold Cold Cold Cold Cold.

It's -22. With a wind chill of like -35. That's chilly. LOL Especially after we had double Digit on the Pluss side last week. It's not so much the temps as the Drastic Changes in Temps that are making us miserable! Lol

There was half an INCH of ice on the window when we got up. And puddles of water...ruining the paint on my wall...I need to fix and paint those. As soon as the dripping stops. Oh whatever.

The temperature really WAS that cold! Too bad it cant show wind chill. We dressed the kids in many, many layers to go out today. I know they likely wont let the kids go outside at school, but they need to be prepared and just the run outside they must be warm! LOL


Smythe was back in his fav new spot Fish watching. I wonder if he GETS that he cannot catch them! They dont get it, they attack him through the glass, it's hilarious! Those big orange fish are really agressive, they attack my Camera!

We had no Aleah today and Annika had preschool. After Preschool I picked her up and brought her to the house where Nanny was waiting to take her home. Annika loves her days with Nanny! And I didnt too much mind my day Mostly Alone.
After School Taylor had Afterschool activities and Holly had a new Power Skate program going on. Katelyn took the bus to our place and Scott was home, so off we went to skate. Nanny picked Taylor up after her activities.

The skating session was very basic and one of the helpers got the good skaters doing some stopping and crossover drills. Holly...was one of the good skaters! I didnt actually even get to watch her much because I was a helper and I was very busy helping a little one get her feet under her! LOL It was kind of fun and I am going to use some of those ideas to get Annika skating without the skate support next time we go out!


after Skating we went to Nanny's for a chicken dinner and then home. Scott bought a new light for my scrapping area as my lightbulb blew (Red Alert Red Alert) and he had promised an "under cupboard" light anyway when I moved the table. SO I have a new noisy light above my table! I still want a bulb for my other one ;)
Scott went to Hockey and I scrapped all night. I am very busy doing 3 challenges for the LIITD DT Contest. If nothing else, it certainly has got me scrapping awesome pages again!

Tuesday January 16th 2007

We got our SNOW on Tuesday! The snow continued through the night and by morning we had a SNOW DAY! LOL I like storm days, most days. This view out my front door doesnt really show the pretty snow as nicely as it was!

So Scott was supposed to go to NFLD today. He got up very early, checked the flight, drove to the airport, checked the flight, went to check in...They cancelled it. While he was there. So he comes home. He cleaned the rink off first. Obviously a priority.

Since there was no school today, There was no Aleah here but there was a Katelyn all day. The kids started out outside, got cold and came in to play house.
Apparently Taylor was the mamma and the rest were her babies...and the two 6 year olds were 18 and 20 and had newborn babies of their own OMG OMG OMG lol

This Syndo Catfish isnt dead, he actually spends most of his time floating upside down.

So after lunch the kids went out to coast again, and they stayed out for 3+ hours! Occassionally they came in to pee, and went right back out again!

Well Annika actually came in and stayed long before the rest. It's hard work to go coasting! Im so impressed with how brave she is! She carries her own sled up, hops on, and bombs down head first, on her back, feet first...




They came in just before supper for some hot chocolate and then had KFC that Katelyn's mom brought, and after they went home,
Scott and Holly went out and flooded the rink. It's not very smooth. Supposed to be very very cold for next few days so they are working on making the rink work!

Monday Monday why does Monday Always Follow Sunday?? Jan 15 07

Kids at School. Annika at Preschool. She had a rough night with waking up (maybe?) and being scared of everything! So I let her sleep in and she went late. It was ok. She's a kid. lol
Thought we had Aleah on Monday. But we didnt. So we ran some errands and I went to GCDS and got these cool Words! They used to have LIVE which was the word I wanted, but now they dont have it. I will keep checking.

Eventually it started to snow. A forecast big storm, 4-6 inches. OMG ...lol that's a big storm?? well i love snow so I wont knock it. It did snow and when the girls came home from After School Activities they went straight out to coasting! It was Katelyn's first time Coasting and I have to say I think she LOVED it! She was up and down and around SO many times it was awesome!

Annika has become a real coasting enthusiast! She asked me to move then came straight down the hill at me! LOL Thinks she's funny ;) but I snapped this photo before she hit me!

Dylan was running around with us and had a wonderful time!

After the coasting was done we went in for hot Chocolate and supper, and I dont think we did anything in the evening , it was snowing YAY! Scott was getting ready for an away trip next day (NFLD) and I was scrapping or sleeping, whichever LOL
