The Rest of the Trip to PEI

In the morning we got up (some slower than others) lol I was tired! I stayed in bed while Scott and Annika went to the hotel breakfast and they brought me back some food. I ate then Scott went to do a call and I took Annika back to the pool. That is one awesome pool room, so hot and awesome!







The whole pool atmosphere was even nicer. It was sunny and the sun made the water so shiny! And so warm! I could have stayed there all day. In the lounge chair. This was not to be. Annika dipped in and out and let me take some photos, then it started. When you gonna come in Momma? When you gonna come swim with me? And there were 2 ladies and a man there, saying "oh mom you gotta come in with her, you cant not! LOL" Oh yes I can! But I did climb into that cold, cold pool. It was not warm at all! Hahaha I was kept going by thoughts of hopping into the hot tub just before leaving. So in I went and swam with her for awhile, then it was wayyy time to go, and we had to get out. The hot tub? Not so hot. Lukewarm more like. Disappointing. I have a photo of Annika sitting on that very hottub step about 3.5 years ago. gotta scrap them both ahaha!


So we ran back up to the room and into the shower, where Scott found us, late and he was a little irritated. We packed up in a hurry and hopped into the car for the drive across Island to his call in Summerside. He encouraged us to come in with him as there was a dog and a little boy looking for someone to play with.

Annika and piggy really enjoyed the drive. I tried to read but the roads were way too rough and
because they dont use salt on the roads in PEI, they are all the colour of the sand they use on them, red, like PEI land. IT's very fertile land, they are well known for the Red soil. When I lived there I had a white Husky and he was always stained Pink by this PEI dirt.

We went to Scott's call and the dogs got to play. Dylan has met Sadie before but Zoe was new to this. I dont think she's been socialized an awfully lot. She didnt really seem to know what to do with the playing, and she barked a lot. She was very fearful and I think she's really aggressive. Gonna work on that.
The three of them did play a lot (endlessly) but I kept Zoe out of most of it because she would not be quiet! LOL!
The Store was empty so far which gave the kids endless places to play! Questionable, letting these kids climb the shelves right over one another hahaha I made Annika move before very long. LOL She had tonnes of fun with her new friend. She was talking about him today!
And before long the 2 kids and 3 dogs were running large circles around and around the store. They were all worn out before too long.

We had to get back to NS to get the kids from school. we had a fast lunch then headed back out.

There's a spot on the short cut from Summerside to Borden where you can see the bridge really well. I have stopped to take some amazing photos here before. It was really nice on this day!

January 31st 2007

The LAST DAY YAY of the month long January Blog. I love doing this but sometimes it's hard to keep up! Blogger isnt toooooo too fast either! I can barely remember what I did yesterday! :)

January 31st! I booked a Stampin' Up party! For PEI! LOL for those who dont know this is over 2 hours away, through a piece of NB, across a big ol bridge, and onto the Island. C and I had been talking for some time about having a class for her group there, so finally we planned it.

Taylor and Holly were so THRILLED to be going for a sleepover at Katelyn's house! I was a little more concerned, because I KNOW what bed time at my house can be like. Although I did take the most difficult child to PEI with me, I left one very nervous child home. But with Taylor there, Holly should be ok. Right?
They packed their bags the night before, with a toy (Build-a-Bear) and clothes. Wednesday morning we packed up the rest of the essentials, and they went off to school. Allison was picking them up after school, and had alllll sorts of things planned! LOL they went shopping, they went out for supper, they went for groceries to pick out Lunchables for the next day...they had fun.

Annika chose to go with us. I admit to making sure I mentioned the POOL a few times. She could have gone to Nanny's but Nanny had things to do and I didnt want to cause any issues, and besides, I LIKE Annika. She's fun! LOL

Annika packed her bag then Scott repacked it for her, unpacking her orange blanket which he soon regretted when she so proudly said she didn't need the blankets on the big bed, she had her OWN blanket, and the look in her eyes when he said "I took that out and left it home..." MEN! Seriously.

We got to PEI in nice time checked into the hotel before Scott went to see a store. Annika loved our room :) And made her blanket comment. I shushed her and told her I would get her a new blanket. Momma is a sucka.

Scott's call was at the Mall in Downtown Charlottetown, a 2+ story mall right in the midst of town. Its not a bad mall, a little empty considering, but it's nice. We easily spent some time wandering around there, bought Annika some paper and crayons, and a new blanket with Dalmations on it! I got some stuff to put on my nails and Scott did his call. I also saw a neat ceramics store that I might like to play at sometime. lol

After Scott's call was done, he did a short call and Annika drew and coloured with her new colouring tools! :) She did get a little bored with this as he was much longer than he said he would be and she's starting to understand concepts of time LOL.

Then we went for an early supper at Boston Pizza. I love pasta! Annika had a lot of fun and she had a Shirley Temple drink with a cherry on a sword LOL!


Before my class we had time to take Annika for a swim. She had a lot of fun trying to find it, and was so pleased when she did! The pool room was very very warm and I had a nice little sauna while watching.

The pool wasnt deep so at first Annika went in alone. She went bit by bit and then she would come running back out.
She went on and on about how cold the pool was. She even climbed on Scott to get him nice and wet. Eventually he went and got his swim suit on and joined her in the pool.

Annika did like to have someone to swim with, she stayed in the water more that way!

And this is how I watched them swim. Yup. Feet up, laying in a lounging chair. That's the best way to swim. I like swimming but I like being warm even more. And that water...it's not warm Lol.

We went to my class and I had a photo but have NO idea how it vanished. LIkely going to be a common occurance, since my camera met some ice this morning and although it still works, I dont know how. The class went well, lots of PEI bookings, and I will get more trips across the Strait! LOL
After my class Annika was sleeping and we watched some TV and then slept. Annika woke up really early the next morning, and we were all really tired. She likely got woken up by her sisters and Katelyn in NS. APparently they were up early too.

Only 2 days left of January! Where did it go? The weather has been too nice, the days too busy, and the month way too short! LOL I know, some might disagree but I really like snow days! Might have mentioned that!



Holly was home again sick. Annika seems to be sick too. But not as bad! We can't let that hold us back! LOL We took both of these cranky girls to Halifax!
LOL They slept most of the way there because Scott gave them night time medicine LOL nicely quiet drive! might have to remember that tonight when they wont sleep!


Scott had some stops to make, and I wanted to go to Michaels, but first Scott wanted to go to the Bay. He is looking for a heated mattress pad. That's what he wants. But they are hard to find and the ones we find are very expensive. I say get another blanket if he's cold HAhahah So we searched Bay, nothing. We searched a few other places, nothing. So I did convince him to get a comfy red blanket to go on the bed and we will see about the heated mattress pad next year lol. We spent a lot of time at the Mic Mac Mall and little time at Michaels where I picked up new toy for Allison and I to try. It's a Wood Burning tool, and although it is kinda for cutting stamps (might or might not work), It does a really cool job of burning paper. LOL That could be sorta fun. So I am playing with that!

After Michael's there was JUST enough time to pop into Chapter's. I wanted to go for the books, Scott wanted COFFEE from there. I am so craving an awesome Holiday Spice Smoothie (Tims had them at Christmas but there are no more SOB*) so I settled for...hmm I dont know what it was, Chai Tea with Nutmeg I think; YUMMY, whatever it was.

WE booted it home to get the Taylor from school, and at home she had her piano lessons.

We put the other kids out on the ice to give them something to do, helps them leave Taylor alone.Holly and Katelyn went out first and skated around for a while. Katelyn is getting quite good! They got out the hockey sticks and passed the puck back and forth a few times, before they got cold. Holly still wasnt feeling well so she gave in long before Katelyn.

Taylor came out and took over the show for awhile. Still working on some very important skills!


Taylor pulled Annika around with the hockey stick for a little while and every turn ended in a spectacular crash with a dramatic fall. LOL

Allison and Katelyn stayed for the supper that Allison made, we tried out our little burning tool, and then rather then skating, we packed bags for the big awesome sleepover the next day! The kids went to bed without too much trouble, big days ahead for them! lOL

Monday Jan 29th 2007

Poor Holly came into the bedroom Monday morning early because she couldnt sleep. I thought she was hot. And sure enough before we got up took her temperature and it was 101.5 F. So Holly Dolly gets to stay home! Some Motrin brought it under 100. And slept all morning on the couch while Annika was at preschool, and I hated having to take her out to get Annika :( she was so pathetic in her little jammies on the couch! She was complaining of a headache a lot too.Just a cold tho!

Annika has preschool in the morning and she played with Holly all afternoon. I worked on a Stampin' up order. After school Taylor came home then afterschool activities and Katelyn came home. They played on the computer in the Nook for awhile. Scott was in the Halifax area and he brought me a magazine when he came home. He also bought a pillow and a mattress pad, I think he likes his birthday money better to sleep on Heheheh

Monday night. nothing happened. Monday was really slow! LOL. I'm not washing the older kid's hair this week. LOL There's lice at the school and OMG if we had it here I might just might DIE! lOl SO I am doing my best to prevent it by sending my kids to school with dirty, Tea tree oiled hair. They are SO not impressed with me! LOL

This is a journal my friend Shelley made for me and gave for my birthday! I LOVE it !It's my fav paper line with an awesome initial for me...and it came with Tim Horton's Gift Certs! THANKS SHELLEY I LOVE IT :):):)

January 28th 2007 Scott's Birthday!

Yup it's Scott's Birthday! :) I tried to let him sleep in but by the time I got the kids out of the bed, he was awake. So he got up and made his own breakfast. And ours too. He got ahead of me.

While he was running out for coffee (also wouldnt let me do that. It's hard to do something for someone's birthday when they wont let you!) the kids prepared their cards and present to surprise him when he came home. I didnt get the pants and shirt I wanted at the mall so he has a raincheck ;)






The kids one by one gave Daddy their cards and then they got their hugs.

Taylor and Annika went to Church with Nanny, while Holly went to Jenn's and did some skating. We picked her up before dinner and took her protesting to Nanny's for dinner.

After a nice Chinese Feast, the kids got the cake ready.

So we left the kids at Nanny's after cake, I came home and finished getting ready for a Stampin Up party I had here at the house. That went really well. :) we had a load of fun.

Scott took our birthday money and went shopping and bought me a table. For scrapbooking. Now I need some folding chairs. Took Taylor skating, she did well. After skating she still had her skates on, so I put her on Holly's ice and actually attempted to fix some of her troubles. She is doing better :)
